#000 Life and Death, woodcut, 1944, 14.125" x 9.625" (image size)
The first Jacques Hnizdovsky woodcut, showing the great influence of Albrecht Dürer's work on the artist. This small edition was rescued from the ravages of war. The entire edition was printed by Jacques Hnizdovsky, but was forgotten at his art studio. There was no time for the artist to sign the small edition of prints, so it has been signed and numbered by the Hnizdovsky Estate™, as instructed by the president of the IFPDA at the time.
