Johann Sebastian Bach, 1971, original Jacques Hnizdovsky limited edition woodcut, hand printed, signed and numbered by the artist. Bach was Hnizdovsky's favourite composer, and instead of notes, birds take flight on the bars. Hnizdovsky's stereo system had speakers close to his studio windows, which faced the back garden, which housed a magnificent magnolia and a plum tree. The neighbour's cherry tree was full of birds, who would erupt in song, anytime Hnizdovsky played their favourite music. This was especially true when Hnizdovsky played Japanese Enka melodies.
